A letter from our CEO regarding our Col Reynolds Fellowships

The Kids' Cancer Project CEO, Owen Finegan.

You may remember that last year we committed over $7 million to the Col Reynolds Fellowship program as part of our 30th anniversary celebration. It is our belief at The Kids’ Cancer Project that without supporting these innovative researchers, kids with cancer don’t have a fighting chance.

With that in mind, we are just days away from officially unveiling the nine new Col Reynolds Fellows for 2024. Your support has allowed us to fund these researchers that will move the needle for all children, adolescents and young adults diagnosed with cancer.

Earlier this month, our founder Col Reynolds and I reached out to each of the new fellows via Zoom to share the good news. We managed to get the calls on video, and I can assure you their reactions are priceless.

The investment we have made in each of the nine new fellows, plus the 24 existing, outlines how driven we are by our mission to make discoveries, translate pioneering research, advance treatments and build support programs that will improve survival rates for all young people with cancer and allow them to thrive after treatment.

One of our fellows, Dr. Kenny Ip, is a molecular neuroscientist studying genetic mutations in childhood brain tumors. Dr. Ip has kindly agreed to speak at our inaugural Boardroom Lunch, hosted by Bartier Perry Lawyers on Thursday 12 September, located in Sydney.
