The Kids’ Cancer Project’s storied list of partners are all intent on helping us realise our dream of no child dying from cancer.
Airwallex, who began their partnership journey in 2023, is one such partner that shares the desire to invoke change. The global payments and financial platform – who aims to propel the growth of the global digital economy – now has another aim: to see survival rates in children’s cancer patients grow from 86% to 100.
Airwallex’s Senior Workplace Experience Specialist, Laura Kutyla, says the company’s affinity with The Kids’ Cancer Project began with a commitment to create social impact.
“I was looking for a meaningful way for the Airwallex Sydney team to use our company-allocated volunteering day during the festive season in December 2023,” she says.
“While exploring different opportunities, I came across The Kids’ Cancer Project and was inspired by their mission to fund research for childhood cancer. They offered a volunteering opportunity to wrap presents for the charity, which felt like a rewarding way to give back during a season of generosity and joy.”
Wrapping gifts for a second year in 2024 and with plans to do it all again this year, Laura says there’s so many reasons why Airwallex keeps coming back.
“It’s a hands-on way to support a great cause, allowing us to use our volunteer leave while spreading joy during the festive season,” she says.
“Knowing that our efforts help fund vital childhood cancer research makes it incredibly fulfilling. On top of that, The Kids’ Cancer Project team is always so welcoming and friendly, making the experience even more special.”
Many Airwallex volunteers have said how rewarding it felt to contribute to such a great cause in a simple and meaningful way, with The Kids’ Cancer Project providing a smooth and enjoyable experience.
And as for what Laura would say to other organisations considering supporting The Kids’ Cancer Project?
Laura says Airwallex is looking forward to continuing its relationship with The Kids’ Cancer Project into the future, maintaining its new annual gift-wrapping tradition.
